What does a Vet Nurse do?In order to qualify veterinary nurses undergo 2 years of college and on-the-job training covering many subjects including surgical and medical nursing, radiography and laboratory work. As a Training Practice we have modern facilities to ensure all our staff are trained to the highest standard.
Here at Deane VetsĀ our nurses are involved in a wide range of tasks, from serving clients in reception to monitoring anaesthetics. Our nurses care for in-patients and assist with surgical and medical procedures, as well as helping the duty vet with emergencies when needed day or night. They also keep the practice clean and organised.
Another important part of the veterinary nurse's role is to run free of charge clinics on a variety of topics including:

- Nutrition advice
- Dental checks
