Home visits for
pets:
We encourage our pet owners to bring their animals to
the surgery where trained staff and modern diagnostic equipment are readily
available. However, in certain circumstances the vets are willing to make home
visits, but it is often difficult to give a precise time and there will be an
additional charge for such visits. We also have an ambulance service when
required.
Fees
We accept most major credit and debitcards, cash and cheques (with bank card).
All private veterinary practices are funded by the fees
you pay. We try to keep our fees as affordable as possible. However, in order to
do this we ask that payment be made at the time of treatment. We are always
pleased to provide a detailed estimate before undertaking any
treatment.
Where finance is a problem, clients are requested to
discuss this with the veterinary surgeon before treatment commences. Some
clients on benefits may be eligible for PDSA support, but this must be applied
for in advance by registering under the PDSA Pet Aid Scheme. Please ask at
reception for details and an application form.
Practice Plan
Why not spread the cost of your pet's routine care ie vaccination, worming, flea treatment by signing up to our practice plan and pay in monthly D/D instalments. Members will receive discounts on the above and additional discounts on many other treatments such as neutering and diets. On top of this each registered pet will have a full health check every 6 months. Ask in reception for details.
Pet
Insurance
We recommend pet insurance cover for sickness, injury
and third party liability, but are unable to recommend specific companies due a
change in the law. Specialist investigations such as MRI and CT scans, or
orthopaedic treatments or just lengthy investigations can be very expensive, but
are made possible by pet insurance, so you can do what is best for your pet.
When choosing a company – pick up leaflets, check the
web but be wary of the cheapest policies. Look for “life time” rather than
“annual” policies, don’t change companies and start as young as possible to
avoid exclusions to the policy.
